The Board of Missions trip to Feed My Starving Children on April 14 was a great success, with six adults and four children from NSUCC combining with other groups to package over 12,000 meals! Please look for upcoming opportunities to go with us there again - it's an easy, fun, meaningful, and important way to help our brothers and sisters around the world.
Strengthen the Church is our May special offering. Strengthen the Church is one of four special mission offerings within the United Church of Christ, and grows the UCC's future by:
Funding new church starts and invigorating existing congregations
Nurturing lay and pastoral leadership
Building youth and young adult ministries
Supporting the God is Stillspeaking Ministry and its extravagant welcome for all within the United Church of Christ.
All gifts are directed to activities and programs of your church's local conference as well as the UCC's national ministries.
We are still working to set up our next outing to provide a dinner to Union Gospel Mission, and expect that to be sometime in June - stay tuned for details to come.
A nice group of folks turned out on April 28 to view and discuss the film The Bible Tells Me So, a story about five families with gay children, and the struggle for them to reconcile this (successfully!) with their faith.
