Mission Statement

We are a growing Christian community of faith empowered by God’s Spirit to be in service to others. We strive to provide comfort, inspiration, and challenge through the Spirit of Jesus Christ. We are called to be a congregation where all people are accepted and honored for who they are.

NSUCC Open & Affirming Statement:

When asked, Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 19:19). Every day we continue to learn the meaning of Jesus’ invitation to love. In that spirit, we are an open and affirming congregation. We celebrate Jesus’ love for all as we joyfully welcome all people regardless of ethnicity, culture, gender, age, abilities and sexual orientation into the full life, ministry, and witness of our community, New Spirit United Church of Christ.

Anti-Racism Statement:

We covenant to work with God and each other to be an Anti-Racist church.

We believe that in God’s creation people are created unique and equal.

We believe Race is an artificial construct, which has been institutionalized, and that we are called as a church to dismantle the bonds and tenets of racism.

We believe all people are of one race – Human.
